On February 3 and 4, the earth shook again in Myanmar. The two moderate to strong earthquakes occurred about 90 km west of Yenangyaung and had magnitudes of 5.9 and 5.2, respectively. Earthquakes of this magnitude can cause minor damage to buildings. Image source:U.S. Geological Survey
Our teams working on projects in the Irrawaddy Delta felt the tremors slightly in some cases, but fortunately there was no damage. Min Min, our head of Irrawaddy River Doctors , reported that the glasses on the table were shaking. We very much hope that it remains limited to minor tremors!

Yesterday, the official inspection for the renewal of the Mother-Child Center’s license took place, and it went very well. The project was assessed by over 20 people, including the deputy director of the regional health authority for private healthcare, as well as representatives from fire safety, the regional hospital, the police, and municipal and regional administrative authorities. There were no major deficiencies to report. We are very pleased for the team that this important event went so well and congratulate them on the great result! Just a few minutes before the big visit, a little boy was born at the Mother-Child Center.
