Locations

The Artemed Stiftung is active in three countries on three continents. In Myanmar we are working to improve health care for the people of Bogale Township in the Irrawaddy Delta. In Tanzania we support a rural hospital in Nyangao in the south-east of the country, which is the only place to go for about 1 million people. And in Bolivia we provide medical care for the weakest of the weakest: the street children in the city of La Paz.

In our projects, it is particularly important for us to work with reliable local partners who know the conditions in Europe on the one hand and the local culture on the other. This is the only way to ensure that we can pursue and implement the goals that suit everyone. For us, this also means having local staff who bear the main responsibility for the projects and help people to help themselves. Furthermore, we are committed to the long term and sustainability and always integrate the measurement of effectiveness into the design of our projects. This is how we ensure that not only something happens, but that something actually changes.
