At the beginning of June, we were very fortunate to have Dr. Kasoga from our partner hospital St. Walburg’s Hospital in Nyangao (Tanzania). Mr. Kasoga is a gynecologist and clinical director of the clinic and our most important contact person for medical as well as strategic measures.

An important reason for his stay were meetings and discussions with the Freiburg architect Peter Schmieg and his wife, who are responsible for the structural planning as part of the master plan of the Tanzanian hospital. Furthermore, Mr. Kasoga sat in on the radiologist and long-time volunteer of the foundation Dr. Bigdeli in his clinic: the Artemed Clinic Munich South.

For the doctor from Tanzania, it was not the first time he had been to Germany. His last visit was a good 1 1/2 years ago, when he was also on a three-week trip to the foundation in Tutzing in autumn 2022 (we reported).

Such mutual visits are enormously important for cooperation on an equal footing: Not only should the doctors from Germany provide support, share knowledge and learn new things in the hospital in Africa - the colleagues from Africa also benefit greatly from the insights and experience they can gain here in Europe. In addition, we are of course always very happy to welcome such a pleasant visitor as Mr. Kasoga.
