Every day, our Street Doctors from La Paz(Bolivia) send us pictures and brief information via What's App. We are always impressed by the many different missions that our team carries out on site. From visiting schools to treating destitute families in the favelas and street children, to examining children and women in prisons(as we reported).
Today we would like to give you an insight into our work:
Last week, pupils from the two schools U. E Tupac Katari and U. E Suárez Guzmán underwent dental check-ups. Knowledge about proper dental care and nutrition was also passed on. In the poor districts of Lustracalzados and in the "centro de niños NATT'S", children and their families were able to receive medical treatment and contact the team with dental problems. In addition, prenatal care was carried out using the portable ultrasound machine. The doctors' ultrasound training carried out at the beginning of the year paid off here(we reported).
At PuraPura, homeless people with health problems were helped. In addition to the purely medical component, psychological care also played a major role as always: the street doctors always have an open ear for people and give them hope with encouraging words and care.
At the end of the week, more schools were visited.
On behalf of everyone who was helped by the Street Doctors this week, we would like to thank our many donors.
