Malnutrition has many faces, and it is therefore understandable that the most recently published Global Nutrition Report (2020) found some form of malnutrition in a percentage of the population in almost all countries. In developing countries, malnutrition is still a major issue.

One of the goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda is to end hunger worldwide.

In 2021, Artemed Stiftung initiated the 'Community Approaches to Address Childhood Undernutrition' project to improve the situation in Tanzania. In the first phase of the project, a large amount of data was collected to help record the nutritional situation in the Lindi region and define possible reasons for malnutrition. In addition, educational measures were carried out to train the population in the basics of a balanced diet. Fortunately, it has already been possible to provide concrete help to some small children. For example, the severely malnourished Munifu, who after a stay in the St. Walburg`s Hospital and the provision of special food, she has now been released at a normal weight.
