Container arrived in Nyangao

After a journey lasting several months and a number of hurdles in importing them to Tanzania, our 16 wooden crates full of IT and electrical equipment have now arrived safely in Nyangao. Almost 7 tons of materials left the Rohde & Schwarz warehouse in Memmingen in June for the long journey to Tanzania. Among other things, 8 km of network and fiber optic cables, 2 tons of power cables and distributors, 1 ton of lithium phosphate batteries and inverters as well as 1 ton of IT equipment, installation material and tools were in the container. The crates, some of which weighed 1000 kg - roughly equivalent to the weight of a small car - were unloaded by hand in Nyangao and are now safely stored in the new electrical center. We very much hope that we will be able to travel again soon so that the German-Tanzanian technical team can get to work on the comprehensive renovation of the electrical and IT systems in the St. Walburg`s Hospital can begin. This will mark the beginning of a whole new era for the hospital with much better treatment options for the many patients in and around Nyangao
