Medical student Vanessa Ruan has decided to write her Master's thesis at Maastricht University on the Irrawaddy River Doctors to write her thesis at Maastricht University. Her focus is on researching how the Burmese population - particularly in the Irrawaddy Delta - has access to basic medicines and what barriers the local people have to contend with. She is currently researching the local medicine market and conducting interviews with patients and villagers. We are delighted about this first scientific work!
