Once a year, our hospital ship Polli has to go to the shipyard in Yangon. There she is given a general overhaul and TÜV inspection. We normally use the month of August for this, as our annual license expires in September. In 2020, we brought the date forward. At the moment, the Irrawaddy River Doctors only work to a limited extent. This also means that they are not allowed to use the large hospital ship, but only travel to the villages in small boats. We are therefore using the time in other ways. Very spontaneously, Polli traveled to Yangon with our sailors and underwent the usual renovation and maintenance work.

It is expected to return bright and fresh in June in the hope that it will soon be able to resume normal operations.
