Irrawaddy River Doctors - Reporting in January 2020

Month after month, many patients come to the floating clinic of the Irrawaddy River Doctors.

A total of 1303 patients were treated on board in January.

As part of the mother and child project to reduce maternal and infant mortality in the catchment area of the Irrawaddy River Doctorswhich includes preventive check-ups for pregnant women and babies in their first year of life, 87 prenatal check-ups were carried out in January. The laboratory values of 59 pregnant women were also taken. 55 children under the age of one received a check-up. A total of 285 children came on board, 95 of whom received worm prophylaxis.

The total cost of medical care was MMK 12,765,548.48 (EUR 7,793.33), and the cost of ship operation was MMK 2,878,640.00 (EUR 1,794.56).

Patients paid a total of MMK 2,212,500.00 (EUR 1,379.29) for the treatments.

136 treatments were performed free of charge.
