"Our ship needs wheels". That was the entry in stiftunglife 's Advent calendar on December 11, 2024. stiftunglife had managed the Swimming Doctors' medical ship MS Fortuna for many years until they transferred it to the Artemed Stiftung in autumn 2024.(We reported). The connection to the ship, which brings urgently needed medical care to the Irrawaddy Delta, remains and so does the financial support. The team's wish came true thanks to an extremely generous donation to stiftunglife, a motorbike was purchased: The Swimming Doctors team is delighted: "Thank you for the motorcycle. It's really useful for our team, now they are going easily to the patients's home for healthcare, when the patient can not come to us. We will keep maintaining and use properly. Best regards on behalf of our team," writes Ko Naing, who has been responsible for the organization of the floating medical practice on site for years.

He reports that life is becoming more difficult every day in the Irrawaddy Delta due to the civil war, of which the population is the loser. For the past two months, the MS Fortuna has been traveling to two more villages to provide general medical and dental care to patients in the river basin.
