Hygiene continues to play a very important role at our Tanzanian partner hospital St. Walburg’s Hospital . Thanks to a great team on site and wonderful cooperation with hygiene experts from Germany, we have already made great progress in recent years.

To ensure that the knowledge we have learned is put into practice and that new staff receive appropriate hygiene training, we hold monthly Zoom meetings with the hygiene officers in Tanzania and discuss further suggestions for improvement with them.

Among other things, it was decided to purchase new equipment for cleaning instruments and replace old ones. Plans for a new sterilization department have also been underway for a long time. In order to learn how to use the equipment correctly from the outset, some Tanzanian team members were able to visit the modern CCBRT hospital in Dar Es Salaam for a week and gain an in-depth insight into the hygiene standards there. The hospital largely meets our standards in Germany.

Our Tanzanian colleagues were extremely motivated and we are delighted to have made further progress here.
