Monatsbericht aus Myanmar: Su Sus News and Insights

Unterstrich_grau

Dear Dr.Veronika,

How are you and all of Artemed Team? I hope you are in good health. I am writing a monthly overview report for IRD February trip and activities. Our team was on duty with the boat from 1st – 27rd February and provided our medical treatment to 15 villages. Two of them we never visited before.

The ICD result showed that we had a total of 1522 patients. Among these patients, about 4.9% (74 in number) were pregnant women who came for AN care. Additionally 190 boys and girls (12.5%) between 1 to 14 years old visited us for medical check-ups and treatment while about 3.9% (59 in number) were younger than one year old. We did screening test regarding comprehensive AN care to 56 pregnant women and a total of 834 laboratory testing have been done.

During this month, our team provided the general medical treatment such as Idiopathic Anaemia, Urinary Tract Infection and Rheumatic Fever according to the signs and symptoms of the patients and the laboratory test results. Moreover, our team provided treatment for non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and stroke. In this month, we had random blood sugar testing to 376 patients whose BMI were above 23. And we also did Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing to 549 new patients who were older than 40 years. Furthermore, patients with acute respiratory tract infection and many other health problems came to our boat to get treatment.

Even though there is no dental surgeon at the moment available, our team provided medical treatment to minor dental illness such as lip sores, oral candidiasis, aphthous ulcer, toothache due to dental caries and else.

In conclusion, thanks again to Artemed Stiftung and all donors for your continuous support and love for Myanmar operation. I am very happy to be able to work together with trust until today.

With Best Regards,
