Monatsbericht aus Myanmar: Su Sus News and Insights

Unterstrich_grau

Dear Dr.Veronika,

I am writing today the report for the April trip and activities. It was abit shorter than usual: We were on the boat from the 1st to 6th plus two additional days as the boat was in the dockyard for checking. We provided medical treatment to three villages and also visited a refugee camp in Wat Inn Pauk Village near Yangon.

The ICD results show a total of 860 patients. 37 of them were pregnant women who were taking AN care. Addiotionally a total of 86 boys and 98 girls (1 to 14 years old) came to get medical check-ups and treatment. Furthermore we could help 30 children under the age of one year. We did screening test regarding comprehensive AN care to 28 of the pregnant women and could provide a total of 330 laboratory testing in this month. Moreover, we provided deworming to 150 patients in total.

During this month, our team provided the general medical treatment such as Idiopathic Anaemia, Urinary Tract Infection and Rheumatic Fever according to the signs and symptoms of the patients and the laboratory test results. Moreover, we were also able to help patients with non-communicable diseases such as Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, Ischemic Heart Disease, Vulvular Heart Disease, Myocardial infarct and Stroke.

In this month, we did random blood sugar testing to 198 patients whose BMI were above 23. And we also did Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing to 230 new patients who were above 40 years old. Furthermore, patients with acute respiratory tract infection, asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), migraine etc. came to our boat to get treatment.

In this month, our dentist Dr.Kyaw Zay Yar Min arrived back to our team: So we could restart to treat people with all kinds of dental problems patients and minor dental illness such as lip sores, oral candidiasis, aphthous ulcer, toothache due to dental caries, periodontitis, gingivitis, oral ulcer and tongue ulcer due to sharp edges of the teeth and growth in oral mucosa due to carcinoma.

In conclusion, thanks again to Artemed Stiftung and all donors for your continuous support and love for Myanmar operation. I am very happy to be able to work together with trust until today. We pray for you to be successful in future more and more.

With Best Regards,
